Corporate Matters
In respect of corporate work, the firm has advised and drafted many agreements for joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, taking over of companies, forming new business ventures, sub-contracting of major contracts and financing of projects. We are also working with some foreigners to assist them in bringing their funds into Malaysia for investment in the development of properties, land development and constructions.
In addition, our corporate services include providing general corporate advise, advising on compliance with the latest legislation including but not limited to the Companies Act 2016, Goods and Services Tax Act 2014 and the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 and the reviewing of commercial documents and agreements.
Loans
The firm is currently on the solicitors’ panel of several banks. Being on the panel of a number of banks the firm has drafted loan documentation (for both Islamic and conventional loans) for the borrowers or purchasers of residential and commercial properties on behalf of the end-financiers. The firm in fact has substantial and vast experience in arranging and preparing the loan documentation in financing the purchase of residential and commercial properties for both private and corporate clients.
We have also been appointed on many occasions to handle corporate loans and project financing (Islamic and conventional financing) on behalf of the end-financiers.
Working with Developers
The firm has established itself with some developers in assisting and working with them on some housing projects in particular on the end–financing.
Civil Litigation
In civil litigation, the firm has handled different cases involving debt collection, construction disputes, company laws and contracts, winding-up, bankruptcy, shareholders’ dispute, tenancy disputes, probates and administration and disputes under banking, family and land laws. The partners are familiar with the procedures in the lower courts to the Federal Court.
